October 17 Media welcomes our latest addition to the team! Her name is Priscilla Ho and she is a talented Co-op student from the Sauder School of Business. We’ve interviewed her so you can learn a little more about our newest marketing and administrative assistant! WELCOME PRISCILLA.. we’re super excited to have you on board!
What’s your degree in?
Actually, I’m still working my way to getting my BCom degree at UBC with a major in Marketing. Best major ever! 
I’m currently doing my Co-op internship with you, October 17 Media, to get experience. I have just a little more than one year left and then I’ll be done! Oh, and I’m also getting a minor in Psychology, which I love!
Favourite Marketing Campaign?
As much as I admire the genius of Google and grab every chance I can get to give them props (haha, just did!), I can’t help but give a shout-out to W&K and Old Spice for their Smell Like a Man, Man campaign. “I’m on a horse” cracks me up every time I watch “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” ad. It’s so tongue-in-cheek yet it never gets old – brilliant viral snowball of a campaign. I think the over-the-top manliness works well with the Old Spice brand, striking a perfect balance between retro and cool. The new branding is smart, witty and seamless in all of Old Spice’s marketing communications, from their YouTube channel to their blog. Each new ad is so funny, people just can’t help but share it! I should stop here. Wait, one more thing, did you know the ads are also pretty much filmed all on location?! There is not as much CGI as you would think!
Favourite Marketing-related website?
YouTube, without a doubt, is my favourite. I have a love-hate relationship with the “Related Videos” section. My favourite YouTube channels I subscribe to are Wong Fu Productions, Nigahiga, David Choi Music, and KevJumba.
What’s your dream client and project?
Anything for Google! I would love to travel around the world in Google’s Street View cars and take photos of all the places on Google Maps that don’t have street view available yet. Of course, I would also try all the different food and restaurants around the world while I’m at it. Dream come true. And when fancy new features come up for Maps, Buzz, Wave, Analytics, AdWords, etc., I would jump on helping them make How-To videos, specifically finding the perfect background music and sound effects to go with the visuals!

Favourite Chocolate Bar?
When given the chance, I chow down on those chocolate and minty After Eight thins by the box. Honourable mention: Ritter Sport Olympia for yoghurt, honey and nuts, all in one!
Pet Peeve?
Black dress shoes with white socks. Unless you can wear it like MJ, of course.
Strange Fact About You?
I fall asleep really easily in moving vehicles. The mix of 103.5 QMFM and sitting in the backseat of a car works like magic. Also, I hate ordering the same thing from a menu as someone else I’m eating with. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, bubble tea, coffee…I need variety on the table.
