How to look good on paper & iphones!

How does your website look?
It looks perfect, doesn’t it? All fits perfectly within your computer screen. Well, it should, it’s been designed specifically to look great when viewed on a computer.
But what happens when you print out a page from your site?
Does it print all those heavy graphics and use up expensive ink? Why are you letting it do that? You know it annoys people! Don’t worry, it is an easy fix with CSS style sheets. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are a simple mechanism for adding styles (e.g. fonts, colours, spacing) to Web documents.
Bottom line:
You can pre-determine what your website will look like when it gets printed. You can specify a nice white margin space, choose the size of header text and even what’s on the page that’s not to be printed. Don’t have a print style sheet or even know what that is? Trust us, you need one. Just talk to us or someone who knows their CSS style sheet stuff and they’ll steer you in the right direction.
I’m not done. One more question.
How does your site look on a mobile phone?
Have you checked it out on Apple’s iPhone or a Blackberry? The world is moving towards more mobile surfing and hopefully your website is accessible to the masses! Apple is due to launch its iPhone 3G in Canada on July 11, 2008.
If you don’t know how it looks then my bet would be that it doesn’t look pretty on Blackberry. Hopefully you can at least see it, but it may be hard to navigate or look kind of wonky at best. Wanna know for sure? Check it out on www.ready.mobi - ideally you should be scoring a 5. What’s that? Didn’t get a 5? You got a 1? Better keep reading then!
Media style sheets can ensure your website works like a charm on mobile phones, as if it was MADE for browsing with a mobile browser (duh, because it WOULD be). For example, check out the dreaded Facebook on an iphone and you’ll find a very special version of the site made just for iPhones! They’re doing this because of the demand.
If you don’t have a mobile style sheet, then you’re likely starting to lose potential clients and users as we speak. For a relatively low cost, you can have a multiple custom media style sheets designed for different mobile browsers. It’s a small investment for a large gain. Our company can help make your site accessible to the masses. It’s what we do… online marketing!
Questions? I knew you might. It’s okay, don’t be afraid to ask.
