Infinite Scrolling: Google’s Newest Experiment

Google has confirmed that it is testing a new way of presenting its web results page. The search giant is playing with the idea of moving on from its ten results at a time format and instating infinite scrolling. What this means is that instead of having to leave your first 10 results behind when you go to page two of Google’s web results (not that anyone ever goes there), you would click ‘show more results’ and simply expand your set of results.

Facebook Releases Ad Targeting by Topic

Facebook recently launched improvements to its online advertising targeting. Previously,
interest targeting in Facebook ads were limited to the ad creator specifically typing in each and
every target topic manually, but the latest developments allow for a much simpler process. Let
us summarize our favourite points for you!

New to Facebook ad targeting is the ability to target by topic. By placing a # in front of
the targeting term (e.g. #painting), you will also reach users with related interests, such as
watercolour painting and oil painting. Now there’s no need to input every type of painting style
you can think of!

What’s your degree in?
Currently I am Degree-less but I do have a fantastic Marketing Communications Diploma from BCIT.

Favourite marketing campaign?
I love Return-it’s ‘Don’t mess with karma’ campaign. It’s hilarious and it’s for a good cause. I also enjoy watching stickmen get hurt, apparently.

Favourite marketing-related website?
Anytime I’m looking for some marketing-related entertainment, Adfreak is where I go. It brings together advertising news, media and pop culture in well written and entertaining articles. I can pretty much guarantee you’ll find something good every time you visit.

Delicious Pinkberry goodness, live perfomance by the hot and upcoming band BONNIE DUNE, plus a fabulous crowd of people…it was the perfect swirl for an amazing experience!

Park Royal Village in West Vancouver was definitely the place to be yesterday evening, for the official launch of Pinkberry’s first Canadian location! October 17 Media did not miss this event, we were there!

Spotted: Cory Monteith from Glee!

Yes, the Glee star was there – rocking out on the drums! Bonnie Dune played six great songs and spent time greeting fans, taking photos, signing autographs and answering questions. There was love all around!
